Michael Knigge reports on criticisms of President Trump’s nomination for Director of Central Intelligence, Gina Haspel. If approved Haspel will be the first woman to head the agency and will be one of the few career officers to rise to Director. Karen Greenberg, the Director of the Center on National Security offered her concerns with Haspel’s nomination, citing a lack of information on Haspel’s work as a clandestine officer post 9/11. Per Greenberg, Haspel’s nomination is further indication that “we still have not held anybody accountable for the policy of torture in the post-9/11 years.”
